Job Overview

As a Cashier at our Trading Post Retail Outlet, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring smooth transactions and excellent customer service. You’ll handle payments, assist customers, and maintain an organized checkout area. If you’re friendly, detail-oriented, and enjoy working in a dynamic retail environment, we’d love to have you on our team.

Duties

• Manage Transactions:
• Operate cash registers efficiently to process customer purchases.
• Scan items accurately and verify pricing.
• Accept payments in cash or credit.
• Customer Service:
• Greet customers warmly as they enter the store.
• Assist customers with inquiries about products, prices, and promotions.
• Cross-sell related products to enhance the customer experience.
• Arrange for shipment of guest purchase as requested.
• Receipts and Refunds:
• Issue receipts, refunds, or change promptly.
• Handle returns and exchanges professionally.
• Complaint Resolution:
• Address customer complaints courteously and provide relevant information.
• Guide customers through any issues they encounter.
• Checkout Area Maintenance:
• Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and well-stocked.
• Bag, box, or gift-wrap packages as needed.
• Record Keeping:
• Track transactions on balance sheets.
• Report any discrepancies promptly.
  
  

Experience

To be successful in this role, you should have the following skills and qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Retail Cashier or in a similar sales role.
• Strong math skills to accurately handle cash transactions
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve customer issues in a professional manner
• Basic math skills to calculate change accurately
  
  

Skills:

• Basic PC knowledge.
• Familiarity with electronic equipment, such as cash registers and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Strong math skills.
• Excellent communication and time management abilities.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
  
  

Availability:

• Be available for evening and weekend shifts.
