What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Mechanic position at Gallup Service Unit?
This position is located in the Engineering Department of the Gallup Indian Medical Center, Gallup, NM. The incumbent serves as a Journeyman Level Maintenance Mechanic capable of independently managing many complex electrical and mechanical tasks, plus other tasks that are assigned by the Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Responsibilities:
- Maintains records of supplies and repair parts on hand and recording those used in maintenance and repair functions.
- Instructs and demonstrates proper operation and utilization of equipment and controls.
- Installs, modifies, repairs, troubleshoots, loads, and tests new and existing electrical systems, lies, circuits, fixtures, controls, and equipment as pertains to the secondary distribution system panels, switchgear, power, and control circuits, electrical wiring, high intensity lighting systems, fire alarm systems, electronic circuits, pneumatic controls, etc.
- Installs, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance on water distillation stills, reserve osmosis, water softener units, dishwasher, kitchen equipment's, autoclave-sterilizers of various sizes, stem and electrically operated.
- Change HVAC units with all types of freon and be able to troubleshoot heating furnaces, air conditioning units. Checks and repairs negative air pressure in isolation rooms.
