Experienced Litigation Associate Attorney | Fort Lauderdale
Galloway Johnson Tompkins Burr & Smith is seeking an experienced litigation associate attorney to join our Fort Lauderdale office supporting a busy 3rd party civil defense practice.
This role is geared toward an attorney with 2 to 3 years of meaningful defense litigation experience who can step into an active docket, take responsibility for files, and continue developing across a broad mix of liability matters.
The practice includes:
• Wrongful death and personal injury defense
• Premises liability
• Auto, trucking, and transportation matters
• Construction defect litigation
• Professional negligence and professional liability
• General liability and other high exposure civil defense matters
We are looking for attorneys with:
• 2 years of 3rd party defense litigation experience
• Experience taking and defending depositions
• Strong discovery, motion practice, and case evaluation skills
• Ability to analyze liability, damages, exposure, and defense strategy
• Experience managing files and communicating directly with clients and carriers
• Confidence handling hearings, mediations, and other substantive litigation responsibilities
• Strong writing, judgment, organization, and client communication skills
• Florida Bar license in good standing
This is not a first party property position. We are specifically looking for attorneys with a foundation in 3rd party liability defense who want to broaden their experience, take on meaningful responsibility, and continue developing as litigators.
