What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sheet Metal Mechanic position at Gallo Mechanical?
Gallo Mechanical is looking for a Sheet Metal Mechanic. The Sheet Metal Mechanic is responsible for assembling, installing and repairing sheet metal products and equipment, such as ducts, control boxes, drainpipes, and furnace casings.
Job Responsibilities
- Installing HVAC equipment (VAV’s, Fans, etc.), Grilled and Diffusers.
- Inspecting, assembling, and smoothing seams and joints of burred surfaces.
- Installing prefabricated sheet metal ducts used for heating, air conditioning, or other purposes.
- Reading blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of duct systems.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years as a sheet metal journeyman with experience in commercial service; or equivalent combination of education (Technical School) and experience.
- Must possess a valid TWIC card or be eligible to obtain one
- Preferred experience with industrial markets
- This position requires working in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage).
- This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling and standing for long periods of time. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and or move more than 50 pounds.
