As an HVAC Apprentice, you will be responsible for assisting HVAC Technicians with the installation, repair, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in commercial settings. RESPONSIBILITES
Assist with Installation
- Help with the installation of HVAC systems, including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, and ductwork.
- Handle tools and equipment needed for installation and ensure proper placement of components.
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing HVAC units under the supervision of a technician.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning filters, inspecting ducts, and checking refrigerant levels.
- Provide excellent customer service by being respectful and professional at job sites.
- Communicate with customers when necessary and relay information back to the senior technician.
- Gain knowledge of HVAC systems, components, tools, and techniques.
- Complete any required coursework or training programs to become a fully certified HVAC technician.
- Maintain and organize tools and materials required for HVAC work.
- Ensure that equipment is functioning properly and report any damages or issues.
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
- Comply with all local and national building codes and regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Enrollment in or completion of an HVAC apprenticeship program or technical school is preferred.
- Basic understanding of heating, cooling systems, and tools related to HVAC work.
- Ability to listen, ask questions, and communicate effectively with customers and team members.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and handle physically demanding tasks.
- This position may be working in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage).
- EPA Certification Preferred.
