What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Sheriff/Detective position at Gallia County Sheriff's Office?
The Gallia County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a hiring process for a specialized position of Detective assigned to work investigations of adult protective and child protective services. The current rate of pay for this position is $26.33 until January 1, 2027, at which time the rate of pay will increase.
To apply you must:
-Be at least 21 years old
-Be certified by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission
-Have a valid Ohio Driver’s License
-Have a high school diploma or equivalent
-Minimum of three years full time law enforcement experience
-Preferred experience in investigations
-Provide professional references
The hiring process will consist of:
-Written examination
-Extensive background investigation
-Truth verification test
-Psychological examination
-Physical fitness assessment
-Panel interview
-Drug screen and physical
