Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, listen to their needs, and provide expert guidance on pawn loans and retail merchandise
- Evaluate items brought in for pawn or sale, accurately appraising their value based on market trends and condition
- Process pawn transactions efficiently, including loan approvals, extensions, and repayments using financial software systems
- Handle cash register operations with precision, managing cash handling, cashiering duties, and cash management responsibilities
- Assist customers with retail sales by showcasing merchandise, answering product questions, and completing sales transactions
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including loan documentation and sales receipts
- Ensure compliance with all security procedures related to cash handling and asset protection
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail sales or customer service environments; background in banking or financial services is a plus
- Strong math skills with the ability to perform basic calculations quickly and accurately (retail math, cash handling)
- Familiarity with financial software systems and proficiency in 10-key typing for data entry tasks
- Excellent communication skills to engage customers confidently and professionally
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting merchandise and standing for extended periods
- Basic understanding of loan processing procedures and cash management practices
- Demonstrated ability to handle cash accurately and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
