What are the responsibilities and job description for the Test Lead – Data Engineering (Snowflake & DBT) position at Galent?
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and own end-to-end data testing strategy for Snowflake-based data platforms
- Design and implement test plans, test cases, and test automation frameworks for data pipelines
- Validate ETL/ELT workflows, data transformations, and business rules using DBT
- Perform data reconciliation and validation between source and target systems
- Ensure data quality, completeness, and consistency across systems
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements
- Drive test automation using SQL, DBT tests, and other modern tools
- Identify, track, and resolve data defects and inconsistencies
- Lead test execution, reporting, and defect management
- Mentor and guide junior testers and offshore teams
Required Skills & Experience
- 8 years of experience in Data Testing / ETL Testing / Data QA
- Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake
- Solid experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) for transformation testing
- Expertise in SQL and complex query validation
- Experience in data warehousing concepts (Star/Snowflake schema)
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines and data validation techniques
- Experience with test automation frameworks for data validation
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
