At Gains In Bulk, we are seeking an experienced full-time Demand & Inventory Planner to lead our end-to-end demand and inventory planning functions. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Demand & Inventory Planner will take ownership and leadership over forecasting, inventory strategy, inventory system management, procurement, and process optimization. This pivotal role is at the intersection of Marketing, Operations, and Finance, responsible for ensuring the right products are in the right place at the right time, while balancing inventory levels, working capital, and supporting the rapid growth of our company, new product launches, and new launches into various retailers nationwide.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Demand & Inventory Planner at Gains In Bulk will own and oversee the end-to-end demand and inventory planning function. This role will manage inventory levels by SKU, channel, and location, build demand forecasts, and balance inventory level targets vs. working capital constraints. Utilizing our inventory management software, Luminous, the planner will ensure data integrity, forecasting cadence, and continuous improvement of planning accuracy. You will work closely with Marketing, Operations, Finance, and external partners to support the business's rapid growth and major retail expansion. The ideal candidate must be comfortable placing POs, managing work orders, and be highly organized in managing all aspects of supply chain operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Some of the core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Inventory Planning

● Set and manage safety stock, reorder points, and weeks of cover

● Own inventory levels by SKU, channel, and location

● Balance service level targets vs. working capital constraints

● Proactively reduce overstocks, write-offs, and stockouts

● Partner closely with 3PLs, warehouses, vendors, suppliers, and Finance

● Support expiry management and mitigation of slow-moving inventory

● Place purchase orders (POs) and manage work orders efficiently and accurately

● Communicate regularly with our manufacturing partners and raw material suppliers to reduce and eliminate supply chain bottlenecks

Demand Planning

● Build demand forecasts by SKU, channel, and region

● Leverage inputs from Sales teams, retail buyers, and sales data (e.g., SPINS or similar)

● Analyze historical sales performance, seasonality, promotional uplift, retail velocity, distribution changes, and trends

● Incorporate inputs from Sales and Marketing to refine forecasting models

● Track and continuously improve forecast accuracy

● Translate demand signals into actionable inventory and supply plans

● Support new product launches and new channel/retailer launches nationwide

Systems & Tools Ownership

● Own the end-to-end supply chain process and inventory management in our inventory planning software (Luminous)

● Become the owner of S&OP meetings, planning systems, data integrity, and forecasting cadence

● Find opportunities to leverage and integrate AI into our supply chain planning workflows

● Drive continuous improvement of planning accuracy and execution

Data & Analytics

● Analyze sell-through and velocity across multiple channels including DTC (Shopify), Amazon, and retail partners

● Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable planning decisions

● Integrate AI tools into workflows to improve productivity, forecasting, and daily operations

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Required

● 3-5 years of experience in supply chain operations (Demand Planning, Inventory Planning, Forecasting, or similar)

● Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to integrate AI into workflows

● Strong communication skills to work effectively with vendors, suppliers, and cross-functional teams

● Highly organized with demonstrated comfort placing POs and managing work orders

● Structured, systems-driven, and detail-oriented

● Confident working cross-functionally with Sales, Ops, and Finance

● Comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on in a high-growth, fast-moving environment

● Excellent communication skills on the phone and in written communications

● Strong self-awareness and ability to constructively receive and apply coaching and feedback

Preferred

● Experience in CPG or nutraceuticals is highly preferred

● Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Cin7, or Luminous

● Experience working with retail sales data (e.g., SPINS or similar)

● Strong retail/wholesale planning experience in the U.S. retail

● Exposure to DTC (Shopify) and Amazon or other ecommerce business operations

● Familiarity with S&OP processes and planning cadences

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

● Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Data Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

● 3-5 years of experience in demand and inventory planning, forecasting, or supply chain operations

● None (or minimal local travel, as required)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

● Compensation to be determined based on candidate experience and qualifications.

Compensation: 

● $75,000 - $100,000 (based on experience) incentives
