Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Gainesville, TX, for a School Resource Officer/Police Officer. The individual in this role will provide a safe and secure environment for students and staff by enforcing laws and school policies. Responsibilities include patrolling school premises, responding to incidents, conducting criminal investigations, gathering evidence, and working collaboratively with school administrators. Additionally, the individual will support a safe learning environment by building relationships with the school community and offering preventive education on safety and legal matters.
Qualifications
- Proven experience and skills in police, law enforcement, and school safety operations
- Expertise in criminal investigations and evidence handling
- Familiarity with enforcing laws and policies within an educational setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, staff, and the community
- Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and stressful situations
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in law enforcement is a plus
- Current law enforcement certification in the state of Texas (or ability to obtain certification)
- Understanding of and commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful school environment
