The VPK Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with Florida’s VPK Standards, supporting each child’s growth in all developmental areas, and maintaining compliance with state requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate lessons that meet VPK learning standards and individual student needs
- Maintain accurate attendance, assessment, and progress monitoring records as required by the Florida VPK program
- Use Creative Curriculum (or similar) to create meaningful learning experiences in literacy, math, science, social studies, and social-emotional development
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues to create a collaborative learning community
- Conduct ongoing assessment using approved VPK tools and share progress with parents
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that promotes exploration and learning
- Participate in professional development and training to maintain VPK certification and enhance teaching skills
- Florida VPK Instructor Credential (required)
High School Diploma and CDA, or Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (per state requirements) - Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in a preschool or VPK setting (preferred)
- Knowledge of Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards for 4-Year-Olds
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
