At GAF, we cover more than buildings. We cover each other. No matter what role, tenure, or track, under this roof you are empowered to be there for your teammates, your customers, and especially your community. Under this roof, we don’t back down from hard work– we support one another in pursuit of something bigger. We define the future while leading the present. And under this roof, we own our opportunities. Becoming the market leader only happens when everyone feels they have the opportunity, and the support, to thrive. We are GAF. And under this roof, we protect what matters most. The Director, Program Management - SAP S/4HANA Business Transformation, is accountable for the successful planning, execution, and realization of GAF's multi-year, enterprise-wide business transformation enabled by SAP S/4HANA. This role transcends mere system implementation; it is focused on driving fundamental business process work, ensuring all project dimensions are accounted for (e.g. organizational change management, comms), and value capture across all in-scope functions (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales, etc.). The Director will lead a team of transformation-focused Project Managers, mature the Program Management of the Transformation Office, and ensure the entire program maintains a sharp focus on achieving strategic business outcomes and realizing the full potential. Essential Duties Business Transformation & Value Realization • Business Process Ownership: Lead the Program Management within the Transformation Office in partnership with Enterprise Process Owners and Transformation Directors to ensure the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP S/4HANA effectively support the target state business processes and organizational design. • Strategic Alignment: Act as the primary Program Management liaison to the Sponsors and Executive Steering Committee, ensuring all program decisions, scope changes, and project priorities are directly aligned with the intended business value case and transformation goals. • Transformation Office Support Tower Partnership: Work in lockstep with the Transformation Office Tower team to integrate change, data, comms, process, tech, training, and HR needs in every project phase, recognizing that the success of the technology is entirely dependent on the successful adoption by the business. • Value Capture Oversight: Establish and manage the program's governance structure to track, monitor, and report on the realization of defined business benefits and KPIs post-go-live, ensuring the investment delivers the expected returns. • Operational and Process Readiness: Champion the successful transition from project execution to business operations, ensuring all business units are fully prepared, trained, and structurally capable of operating within the new S/4HANA environment. Program Execution, Governance & IT Enablement • Integrated Program Management: Oversee and manage a unified portfolio of interconnected workstreams that include Business Process Design, Technology Implementation (SAP), and Organizational Change. • Program Methodology: Implement and enforce a methodology that integrates best practices for large-scale business transformation, including rigorous gate reviews, decision frameworks, and adherence to the SAP Activate methodology where appropriate. • Risk Mitigation: Proactively manage transformation risks that are organizational, procedural, or technical in nature, focusing on critical path items related to business readiness and cross-functional dependencies. • IT as an Enabler: Ensure the technical build and IT activities are executed efficiently and effectively, correctly positioning the IT team and the SAP S/4HANA platform as the essential enabler of the broader business transformation. PMO Leadership & Capability Building • COE Development: Be the central point of the Tranformation Office to become a recognized Center of Excellence that applies a business-first approach to complex program management, capable of overseeing future strategic initiatives beyond S/4HANA that align with GAF’s strategy of Driving Operational Excellence . • Team Development: Mentor and develop a high-performing team of Project Managers with the ability to navigate both technical complexities and sensitive business stakeholder alignment. • Executive Communication: Deliver clear, value-focused program updates, articulating progress not just in terms of 'percent complete,' but in terms of business capability delivered, change adoption status, and remaining risks to value realization. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s Degree preferred 12 years of progressive experience in program and project management, with a minimum of 5 years directly leading or managing the business-side of complex, full-lifecycle SAP ERP (ECC or S/4HANA) transformations. Transformation Expertise: Deep understanding of end-to-end business processes (e.g., Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Plan-to-Manufacture) and the impact of technology on operating models. Proven experience in driving the business side of major process change. Ability to travel 10-25% to support program activities, vendor meetings, and site visits as needed. Qualifications Preferred Expertise in defining, measuring, and tracking the business value/benefits realization of major transformation programs. Outstanding risk management skills, with the ability to proactively identify and resolve risks that threaten organizational readiness or business outcomes. Ability to determine what decisions need to be made, who owns the decision, and drive the decision. Excellent facilitation skills to drive consensus on new business processes and governance structures. Excellent leadership in the direct supervision, mentoring, and development of Project Managers skilled in navigating large-scale business change. Ability to operate with minimal guidance and proactively champion the business mandate of the program.
