We are seeking a growth-centric, excellence-focused Freelance Bilingual Associate Graphic Designer to join our team as we work on an exciting project.
Applicants must be Spanish/English bilingual, able to start immediately, and work 40 hours per week through early October or until the project is completed.
Job Purpose
Working under the guidance and collaboration of the Creative Services Team, the Spanish/English Bilingual Associate Graphic Designer works with the rest of the creative team to create and edit content according to creative briefs. The Bilingual Associate Graphic Designer’s responsibilities include conceptualizing, designing, editing, and creating finished, publish‐worthy projects that accurately reflect the vision of the project leader.
To be successful in this position, you’ll need to be a self-starter, capable of delivering brilliant creative ideas, and showing amazing attention to detail in both Spanish and English. This role requires someone who is not only creative but is analytical, willing to learn and adapt their creative to consistently improve their designs. The ability to collaborate with a team of graphics designers, video editors, producers and other designers is essential, as is the ability to work without supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Typically works Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm CT, but must be available to work extended hours, evenings, weekends and holidays based on business needs.
- Creates Spanish-language versions of existing English assets, ensuring linguistic accuracy, cultural relevance, and alignment with the brand.
- Participates actively in Creative Team brainstorming sessions and creative boards to help curate ideas for different goals and objectives set for marketing and operations.
- Provides up-to-date knowledge about editing software such as Photoshop or InDesign including new techniques.
- Plans concepts by studying relevant information and materials. Illustrating concepts by designing examples of art arrangement, size, type size, and style and submitting them for approval.
- Creates a wide range of graphics and layouts in both English and Spanish for illustrations, company logos, and social media assets with software such as photoshop.
- Prepares finished art by operating necessary equipment and software. Selects colors, fonts, photographs, layouts, and other design elements to communicate creative concepts.
- Reviews final layouts and suggests improvements when necessary.
- Works with the Senior Graphic Designer and Senior Creative Director throughout each project to ensure brand standards are implemented. Creates the final asset variations for external publishing based on the goals of the project.
- Works through the creative by establishing expectations, providing status updates, receiving approvals through the creation process, and handing off project deliverables.
- Works on strict timelines to ensure assets are created and provided to the needed channels within the allotted timeframes.
- Manages asset libraries and works with operations team to ensure proper file processes are followed and assets are readily available.
- Performs other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, or equivalent required.
- Associate degree, or equivalent experience, in graphic design or related field preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required, with professional proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and translating content between both languages while maintaining accuracy, tone, and intent.
- Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
- Proficiency with required desktop publishing tools, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
- A strong eye for visual composition.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Able to receive constructive criticism.
- Understanding of Social Media Marketing, corporate identity, advertisements, and multimedia design.
- Experience with computer-aided design.
Working Conditions
This position is in an office environment and minimum travel may be required.
Depending on the candidate’s location, we may consider a fully remote position.
