We are seeking a growth-centric, excellence-focused Freelance Bilingual Assistant Editor to join our team.
Applicants must be Spanish/English bilingual, able to start immediately, and work 40 hours per week through early October or until the project is completed.
Job Purpose
The Spanish-English Bilingual Assistant Editor plays a critical role on the Creative Services Team by working on various editing projects in both English and Spanish. They are responsible for QC, TE, Metadata, pulling selects for producers, preparing edit timelines, and assisting the editors and media manager with their project load.
The Billingual Assistant Editor must have previous assistant editorial experience and possess a solid working knowledge of Adobe Suite products, including Premier and Photoshop. The ideal candidate should be extremely organized and able to work without daily supervision. They will collaborate with internal and external producers as they edit various products, requiring strong self-direction and motivation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Typically works Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm CT, but must be available to work extended hours, evenings, weekends and holidays based on business needs.
- Creates Spanish-language versions of existing English assets, ensuring linguistic accuracy, cultural relevance, and alignment with the brand.
- Create versions for promos.
- Edits using Adobe Premiere.
- Mixes audio for picture as needed.
- Works with TE master files.
- Re-times videos.
- Works with After Effects to create graphics for programming.
- Collaborates with producers and assistant editors on various projects.
- Mines raw media for bites for various projects.
- Edits EPK footage.
- Creates marketing videos.
- Creates affiliate videos.
- Edits internal videos as needed.
- Assists with Media Management.
- Performs other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required, with professional proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and translating content between both languages while maintaining accuracy, tone, and intent.
- 2 years of experience as an Assistant Editor.
- General knowledge of a full-service production facility (production, post-production, graphics, and audio) along with general technical and production equipment knowledge.
- Strong computer skills are required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere and Adobe Photoshop is required.
- Working knowledge of Avid and Resolve is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects is a plus.
- Willingness to work extended hours is crucial.
- Must be able to maintain composure while working in high-pressure and fast-moving situations.
- Strong organizational, detail-oriented, and time management skills are essential to the success of this job.
Working Conditions
This position is in an office environment and minimum travel may be required.
Depending on the candidate’s location, we may consider a fully remote position.
