Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Busser to join our front-of-house team in a fast-paced, high-volume dining environment. The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized restaurant and understands that exceptional service relies on strong support behind the scenes.
As a Busser, you play a vital role in the guest experience by maintaining table presentation, providing consistent water service, and ensuring the dining room operates smoothly throughout service. You will work closely with servers, hosts, and management to support seamless table turns and uphold the standards of Gabriella’s Modern Italian.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain clean, organized, and guest-ready tables throughout service
- Clear, clean, and reset tables promptly and properly after guests depart
- Provide attentive water service, including refilling glasses and replacing bottles as needed
- Assist servers with pre-bussing tables by removing used plates, glassware, and utensils
- Ensure tables are fully set according to restaurant standards (silverware, glassware, linens, etc.)
- Keep service stations stocked with clean dishes, glassware, silverware, and supplies
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining room, including floors, chairs, booths, and high-traffic areas
- Support hosts and servers during busy periods to maintain efficient table flow
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Complete opening, running, and closing side work as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant experience preferred but not required
- Strong work ethic with a team-first mentality
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and organization
- Ability to take direction and anticipate the needs of the service team
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
Skills
- Strong sense of urgency and time management
- Ability to multitask and stay organized during peak service hours
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- Positive attitude and willingness to support all front-of-house roles
- Previous experience in bussing, hosting, or food running is a plus
