The mission of Gabriella Charter Schools is to join academic rigor with the creativity of dance to engage the hearts and minds of young people in underserved communities, empowering them to excel both inside and outside the classroom. Gabriella Charter Schools is composed of two high-performing, dance-themed charter schools in the Los Angeles community. GCS 1 serves grades TK-8 and is located in the community of Echo Park. GCS 2 serves grades TK-8 and is located in the community of Historic South Central. GCS has garnered accolades, including the State’s Distinguished School Award and Exemplary Arts Program Award, the California Honor Roll, California Gold Ribbon Award, the Title 1 Achievement Award, California Pivotal Practice Award, the California Charter School of the Year award, and a ranking by USC as one of the best charter schools in California. Job Summary
The Resource Specialist Teacher reports to the Director of Special Education and Assistant Principals and helps students with disabilities grow to meet their full potential. Working in collaboration with classroom teachers, other RSP teachers, electives teachers, other support personnel (e.g., school psychologist, school counselors, occupational therapists, speech therapists, etc.) and school administrators, the Resource Specialist Teacher plans and delivers instruction and support to those students identified with disabilities in alignment with students’ IEP goals.
