PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
Methuen / North Andover, MA | Direct Hire| $80,000–$85,000 Bonus
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client is an established manufacturer of electromechanical products with a strong market position in the renewable energy space. The Methuen area facility runs a fast-paced, made-to-order production environment with a tight cycle time and a team of approximately 30 production employees supported by three team leads.
THE ROLE
The Production Supervisor will report directly to the Plant Manager and own the day-to-day supervision of the production floor. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires equal parts accountability and coaching. The incumbent must be comfortable setting the tone, enforcing policies, and driving sustainable change in a dynamic, high-energy environment. Growth potential exists for the right candidate.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Supervise a team of ~30 production employees across a single shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, M–F) with weekend availability as required to meet delivery commitments
- Hold the team accountable to production targets, attendance, break policies, and workplace conduct — consistently and without exception
- Work closely with three team leads to coordinate workflow, manage WIP, and track materials through subassembly and final assembly
- Monitor and drive throughput toward unit-per-shift targets; identify and eliminate bottlenecks in real time
- Champion 5S and Lean manufacturing practices on the floor; sustain and improve standards over time
- Track production data using Oracle NetSuite and Google Sheets; maintain accurate records with minimal administrative burden
- Collaborate with the Plant Manager on continuous improvement initiatives and cultural change efforts
- Address performance issues head-on; follow through on corrective actions in partnership with HR
WHAT YOU BRING
- 5–8 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in assembly or electromechanical production environments
- Demonstrated success supervising hourly production workforces — you lead by presence, not proximity
- Hands-on 5S experience required; Lean manufacturing background strongly preferred; Green Belt a plus
- Experience tracking materials through WIP, subassembly, and production — basic materials management familiarity
- Proven ability to hold a team accountable while maintaining morale and reducing turnover
- Dynamic, quick-on-your-feet leadership style — able to shift priorities without losing the thread
- Thick-skinned and patient; understands that institutional change takes time and consistency
- Proficiency with Oracle NetSuite or similar ERP systems; comfortable with Google Sheets, basic Excel and Word
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and manufacturing supervisory experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
COMPENSATION
- $80,000 – $85,000 base salary plus bonus opportunity. This is a direct-hire, permanent position.
