What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Technology Officer position at Gabriel Talent Consulting?
CTO
Location: Miami, FL
The Company: Transforming how millions of people across Latin America learn English and advance their careers. We're building technology that makes high-quality education more accessible, engaging, and effective.
About the Role
Build the platform. Build the team. Build the future of AI-powered learning.
We're rebuilding our learning platform from the ground up.
Multiple legacy systems. One modern architecture. AI isn't just part of the product, it's how we build. We're designing an engineering organization where AI agents are part of the development workflow from day one.
We're looking for a technical leader who still loves to build.
This is a hands-on CTO role. You'll write code, define the architecture, establish engineering standards, and build the team over time. You'll report to an experienced CEO and partner directly with the executive team to shape both the product and the engineering organization.
If you're energized by greenfield builds, agentic AI, and creating something from scratch, we'd love to talk.
What You'll Own
- Define the technical vision and architecture for a modern, AI-native learning platform.
- Lead the rebuild of multiple legacy LMS platforms into a single scalable product.
- Establish how engineering operates, from AI-assisted development workflows to coding standards, deployment, and system design.
- Architect core platform services including APIs, authentication, content management, and infrastructure.
- Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team as the company scales.
- Own the technical strategy and roadmap in close partnership with executive leadership
- Integrate with AWS, Salesforce, NetSuite, Zuora, and payment infrastructure across the US and LATAM.
- Stay close to the code. This is a leadership role, but you'll be expected to build.
What We’re Looking For
- Has built and scaled complex software platforms.
- Has deep experience with LLMs, agentic AI, and modern AI application architecture.
- Uses tools like Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or similar as part of their daily workflow.
- Has strong cloud architecture experience, preferably AWS.
- Has built or modernized engineering organizations and enjoys creating systems, not just managing them.
- Thrives with autonomy and enjoys making decisions quickly.
- Communicates well across both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Speaks fluent English. Spanish is a plus.
The ideal candidate has experience with…
- AI or EdTech products
- Consumer or mobile applications
- Learning platforms
- Gamification
- Real-time or streaming applications
- International payment or subscription systems
