Responsibilities

The Tax Manager will oversee the preparation of all tax returns for clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. They will also provide guidance on tax issues and assist with client meetings and tax planning.
Key Duties
- Review and approve all tax returns, including those of high complexity.
- Take full responsibility for larger tax returns, delegating tasks as needed.
- Stay up-to-date on tax laws and regulations to provide informed advice to clients.
- Ensure all client assignments are completed within budgeted timeframes.
- Participate in client meetings and collaborate with other departments on tax planning.
- Act as a resource for staff on tax issues and questions.
- Handle preparation of complex business tax returns.
- Provide client service directly or through delegated responsibilities.
- Keep firm personnel informed of important tax developments.
- Manage and represent clients in tax examinations.
- Oversee the flow of tax returns to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure accurate and timely billing processes.
- Research and recommend tax preparation software.
- Support firm’s business development efforts through community involvement.
Supervisory Duties:- Train and develop tax department staff.
- Assess training needs and qualifications of team members.
- Participate in department reviews and evaluations.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of public accounting experience with increasing tax complexity.
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, master’s in taxation preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
