• Compensation Range: $61,360 – $80,030 per year (equal to $29.50–$38.48/hour)

Principal Responsibilities:

Patient Setup & Instruction:

• Gather and evaluate pertinent medical, emotional, and social history for testing
• Educate patients on test procedures prior to, during, and post-study
• Set up, calibrate, and attach sensors and electrodes for precise data recording
• Fit PAP masks and troubleshoot mask issues

Executing Sleep Evaluations:

• Administer various tests (PSG, MSLT, MWT, PAP titrations, oxygen studies)
• Monitor and adjust equipment for error-free signal capture
• Document clinical incidents, behavior, and any deviations from protocol
• Provide age-appropriate care for patients of all age groups

Analysis & Reporting of Data:

• Assess sleep stages and clinical incidents according to set standards
• Produce accurate, actionable reports for physician review

Adherence, Equipment & Safety:

• Maintain and calibrate sleep study equipment
• Follow safety and infection control protocols (Exposure Category I)
• Support quality assurance and performance enhancement efforts
• Interact professionally with patients, providers, and team members

Requirements:

• Associate degree or higher in Polysomnography, Respiratory Therapy, or Nursing
• Eligible for or possess RPSGT certification (within 18 months of hiring)
• Active NYS license: Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Technician, or Polysomnographic Technologist
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hiring; ACLS preferred

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

• Frequently required to stand, reach, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs
• Must possess clear vision, hearing, and manual dexterity for technical assignments
