Roles and Responsibilities

• Provides skilled physical therapy treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assists in implementing customized treatment plans created by the Physical Therapist to meet patient goals.
• Teaches, motivates, and aids patients with therapeutic exercises and daily living activities.
• Helps patients effectively use assistive devices like crutches, walkers, and orthotic devices.
• Administers physical therapy modalities as prescribed by the Physical Therapist.
• Performs therapeutic activities and manual therapy techniques under supervision.
• Monitors patient responses to treatment and reports progress to the Physical Therapist.
• Communicates patient progress with the Physical Therapist and suggests modifications to treatment plans.
• Aids in discharge planning and reinforces home exercise programs provided by the Physical Therapist.
• Provides education to patients, families, and caregivers on prescribed exercises and safety measures.
• Records patient care, treatment, and charges in the electronic medical record.
• Maintains compliance with New York State requirements and professional standards.

Required Skills and Experience

Education: Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program resulting in an Associate’s degree.

Licensure: Current New York State Physical Therapist Assistant license or eligibility for licensure.

Certification: Current CPR Certification.

Training: Completion of yearly mandatory safety in-services and HealthStream e-Learning courses.

Experience: Previous outpatient or clinical experience preferred. New graduates may be considered.

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $25.00–$32.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.

Location and Travel Requirements

Location: Montour Falls, NY 14865

Shift: Days/Evenings FLEX. 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends and on-call duties.

Travel Requirements: Local travel may be necessary to various area locations.
