JOB SUMMARY:
A well-established organization with a significant market share in their industry is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for their facility in Chattanooga, TN. This role will be responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes, analyzing equipment layout, workflow, and workforce utilization to enhance efficiency. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the selected candidate will work to achieve manufacturing objectives per product specifications. The position offers competitive benefits, bonus potential, and a 401k with matching up to 5%, with a standard work week of 8-5, potentially requiring up to 50 hours.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proficiency in developing production tooling using 2D & 3D software such as SolidWorks.
- Implementing productivity enhancements for existing production lines.
- Conducting root cause analysis of failures and recommending design, tolerance, or processing changes, including utilizing Lean Tools.
- Designing and implementing production processes for new products and modifications to existing products.
- Performing FMEA’s on new and existing products, including designs, materials, or processes.
- Evaluating product designs for manufacturing feasibility and efficient processing.
- Collaborating in cross-functional teams to optimize productivity methods.
- Engaging in design of experiments, lean manufacturing, ROIA, and related activities.
- Participating in design review meetings for new and existing products.
- Creating work instructions, statements of work, spare parts inventories, critical parts inventories, and more.
- Implementing automation, robotics, vision systems, controls integration, fixturing, and other related processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university, or equivalent experience. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with tooling is required
- Some project management background is essential
- Automation expertise in robotics and PLCs is necessary
- Previous experience as a manufacturing engineer in a heavy manufacturing setting
- Mechanical aptitude is a must-have
- Authorization to work in the USA without sponsorship
