A reputable manufacturing company is in need of a skilled CNC Lathe Operator in New Britain, CT. This permanent position requires a minimum of five years of experience in CNC machine setup and proficiency in setting up and running CNC lathe machinery, specifically Nakamura machines.
The ideal candidate should be able to comprehend technical drawings, select appropriate tooling, conduct inspections, troubleshoot machining problems, and assist team members in the CNC Lathe Department.
Primary Duties
- Establish and operate CNC lathe equipment, particularly Nakamura machines.
- Independently follow blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
- Select, switch, and align all necessary tooling.
- Determine and adjust suitable feeds and speeds.
- Perform initial and ongoing inspections.
- Effectively utilize measuring and gauging tools.
- Ensure the quality of all items manufactured on assigned machines.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and production challenges.
- Train and oversee department operators.
- Conduct necessary 5S tasks and maintain a clean, secure, and organized workspace.
- Perform directed line inspections in the lathe area.
- Abide by all safety policies and report any unsafe conditions promptly.
- Complete assigned tasks from immediate supervisor.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of CNC machine setup expertise.
- Demonstrated proficiency in CNC lathe setup and operation.
- Preferably experience with Nakamura machinery.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and manufacturing instructions.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of machining speeds and feeds.
