Supervision and Oversight
Managers oversee client accounts, ensuring effective communication with clients and the proper execution of engagements by team members.
Additionally, Managers delegate tasks to Senior Accountants, Staff, and Interns, overseeing their work, providing necessary guidance, and offering training. Managers also engage in business development efforts and play a role in creating proposals for potential clients.
Responsibilities
- Leading multiple engagement teams to ensure adherence to scope, which includes:
- Managing bank, vendor, and payroll records
- Preparing end-of-period packages under accrual or cash basis accounting
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and dashboard creation
- Meeting client deadlines and maintaining clear communication with clients and team members
- Regular interactions with clients and managing engagement budgets efficiently
- Invoicing clients regularly and managing accounts receivable
- Conducting team training and participating in business development activities
Qualifications/Requirements
- 7-10 years’ accounting experience, with recent account management experience in industry finance or public accounting
- Thorough knowledge of double entry accounting and U.S GAAP, as well as taxation matters
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Proficiency in English communication, both written and verbal
- Willingness to travel to client or firm locations
- Strong computer skills, including Excel and accounting software
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team
- Overtime work occasionally required
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Intacct, or NetSuite
- Spanish or other second language proficiency desired
- Specialized knowledge in a specific industry or accounting area
- Active CPA license
