What You’ll Do
As Manual QA Tester at Gabb, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, functionality, and usability of both hardware devices and software applications. You will collaborate closely with multiple development teams, and get to design and execute comprehensive test plans, report defects, and contribute to the enhancement of user experience. The role is integral to delivering safe and user-friendly devices for our customers. Additionally, you will be responsible for:
- Designing and executing test cases to ensure the quality, accuracy, and usability of hardware devices and software applications.
- Documenting requirements, test plans, test results, defects, and corrections using internal project management tools.
- Independently conducting manual testing of new and existing applications and hardware.
- Ensuring proper functioning of hardware user interfaces.
- Providing valuable feedback to external partners' developers and collaborating with their point of contact.
- Offering UX/UI insights to design teams during planning and implementation stages.
- Occasionally conducting location services testing, including driving or visiting different building types.
- Utilizing knowledge of business rules, user needs, and systems to assist product owners and developers in project design and planning.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong deductive reasoning skills to analyze complex scenarios and identify issues.
- Effective communication and documentation abilities, both written and verbal.
- Proficient organization and time management skills to handle varied tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with Bash/Shell scripting and command line tools.
- Capable of reviewing logs to determine the root cause of bugs.
- Adaptability to manage repetitive tasks and shifting priorities.
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and experience with Kanban/Agile methodologies.
- Bonus: Familiarity with ADB, Xcode/Android Studio, automation tools, and prior IT helpdesk experience
