ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Covers assigned territory by pursuing customer retention, development, and satisfaction
- Secures orders by locating new prospects, determining needs, highlighting, and explaining benefits of equipment, and emphasizing the advantages for partnering with the Company
- Helping customers solve problems, providing technical assistance as needed, and assisting in estimating jobs
- Following-up with customers to update them on new products and/or product developments
- Keeping informed on new contracts and opportunities
- Establishing and maintaining strong and positive relationships with customers; settling complaints
- Attending industry exhibits, demonstrations and meetings and assisting with booth set-up as-needed
- Staying apprised of new products developed by the company and by competition
- Informing supervisor and other related managers of changes affecting his/her job performance and/or overall Company success
- Maintaining call schedules, preparing quotes and sales orders accurately and timely
- Following-up on all leads, contract lettings and inquiries; and following-through on potential sales deals
- Communicating with Company personnel, such as service, parts, and administrative personnel to discuss customer issues or potential for parts and service sales
- Ensuring that equipment is correctly delivered and meets all sales conditions as agreed
- Taking prompt action to render timely service in case of any deficiencies
- Collaborating with the Sales Manager(s) and Marketing/Advertising to develop and promote Specials, featured items and/or services
- Working closely with the Credits/Collection group regarding the condition of customer accounts and contracts financing
- Attending educational and training programs covering company policies, department objectives, products services and programs, and professional salesmanship and personal growth
- Controlling travel, telephone, and entertainment expenses, maintaining accurate expense records with receipts and submitting them in a timely manner
REQUIRED
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience utilizing and maintaining Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory to visit customer sites.
- Ability to represent the company professionally at industry trade shows, customer events, and networking functions.
- Must successfully pass pre-employment, post-accident, and random drug and alcohol screenings.
- Proficiency in the use of mobile phones, laptops, and other business technology tools.
- Commitment to following all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
PREFERRED
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field.
- Equivalent documented experience in heavy equipment sales may be considered in lieu of a degree.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel regularly, including occasional overnight stays.
- Ability to operate a computer, laptop, tablet, and mobile phone for extended periods.
- Ability to safely operate or remain seated in a vehicle for extended periods while traveling throughout the territory.
- Ability to work outdoors periodically while demonstrating equipment and meeting with customers.
- Ability to lift, transport, and assemble trade show displays and marketing materials as needed.
