Job description:
We have an excellent Tier 1 Hospital-based client with an immediate need for a Speech Language
Pathologist.
Location: Detroit, MI; Onsite
13 week assignment with possible extension.
Shift times: 10 hour shifts, Wednesday - Saturday, 8am - 6pm (start times are negotiable)
Pay: $57.00 - $62.00 per hour
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist from an accredited program
- B.S., Speech Pathology; M.S., preferred
- One year of speech pathology experience in a health setting
- BLS
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform detailed evaluations of patients’ speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing functions using standardized assessment tools
- Develop personalized therapy plans aligned with each patient’s specific needs and goals
- Deliver engaging and effective speech therapy interventions across clinical or school environments
- Monitor progress regularly and adjust treatment strategies accordingly to ensure optimal outcomes
- Collaborate with educators, healthcare providers, and families to support comprehensive care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment sessions, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards
- Educate patients and their families on strategies to enhance communication skills and manage speech or swallowing challenges
- Stay current with advances in speech therapy techniques, medical terminology, and relevant research
- Support early intervention initiatives by identifying developmental delays promptly
- Uphold patient safety standards and ensure a compassionate approach to all interactions
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist from an accredited program
- Prior experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations preferred
- Strong knowledge of speech therapy techniques, anatomy, physiology related to speech production, and medical terminology
- Experience conducting patient assessments and developing targeted intervention plans
- Familiarity with early intervention programs and developmental milestones
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with patients, families, educators, and healthcare teams
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of speech-language pathology
