Position - EH&S Manager
Location - Plaquemine, LA (Onsite)
Duration - 2 months contract
Pay rate - $50/hour on W2
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) professional to lead safety and environmental compliance initiatives at a manufacturing site or hub. This role is responsible for implementing EH&S management systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement in safety performance.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manufacturing or industrial environments, along with a proactive approach to risk management, compliance, and safety culture development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead implementation of EH&S management systems across site/hub
- Drive EH&S performance improvement initiatives and safety culture
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations
- Manage and support environmental permits (air, water, etc.) and regulatory submissions
- Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Perform audits, gap assessments, and compliance reviews
- Support Management of Change (MOC) processes for EH&S programs
- Act as primary point of contact during regulatory/agency inspections
- Develop and deliver EH&S training programs for employees
- Coach and mentor EH&S technicians and site personnel
- Review EH&S documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
- Experience in EH&S within manufacturing or industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of EH&S regulations and compliance standards
- Experience with incident investigation and corrective action processes
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with environmental permitting (air, water, waste)
- Knowledge of EH&S management systems and processes (e.g., MOC)
- Experience supporting audits and regulatory inspections
- Strong communication, leadership, and training skills
