Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Exterior Design & Release Engineer to support vehicle development programs by serving as the key link between Studio Engineering and Design & Release Engineering. This role focuses on ensuring exterior body designs meet engineering, manufacturing, and vehicle integration requirements while supporting Class A surface development.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish engineering hard points and create master sections to guide studio surface development.
- Partner with Design Studio and D&R teams to evaluate Class A surface releases against engineering requirements.
- Lead feasibility assessments and provide engineering solutions for design integration challenges.
- Work within cross-functional teams to resolve conflicts between styling objectives and engineering constraints.
- Develop 2D feasibility sections and 3D CAD solutions to support vehicle development.
- Act as the technical liaison between design, engineering, and supplier teams.
- Support vehicle rear-end development activities and integration studies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5 years of experience in:
- Body Exterior Engineering
- Design & Release Engineering
- Vehicle Integration
- Design Studio Engineering
- Strong CAD skills with the ability to create sections and 3D solutions.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Experience working in cross-functional engineering environments.
Salary : $44 - $46
