Automotive Quality Engineer / Assembly Plant Quality Engineer
Location: Toledo, OH 43610 (Onsite)
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Automotive Quality Engineer to serve as the "Voice of the Customer" within a high-volume vehicle assembly plant. This role is responsible for driving quality improvements, investigating customer and warranty concerns, leading root cause analysis, and ensuring manufacturing processes consistently meet product quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong automotive manufacturing experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for working on the production floor
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related Engineering discipline.
- Experience in Automotive Manufacturing, Vehicle Assembly, Quality Engineering, Process Quality, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Audits, Risk Assessments, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Ability to analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Automotive OEM or Tier 1 Supplier experience.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Experience supporting warranty investigations, recalls, and customer quality issues.
- Previous Product Engineering, Vehicle Integration, or Vehicle Development experience.
- Experience within a vehicle or component assembly plant environment.
- Knowledge of quality tools including 8D, 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
