G.L. Williams & Daughter Trucking is hiring an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to work across multiple active pit sites.
We are looking for someone who understands how a working mine or material site operates — someone who can operate solo, stay productive, and keep the operation running smoothly without constant direction.
Position Overview
This role is for a well-rounded, production-focused operator with experience running multiple types of equipment and the ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and support a team environment.
You will not be on just one machine — this position requires versatility, awareness, and the ability to move where needed.
Equipment Operated
- Front-end loaders
- Excavators
- Screening machines
- Tractors
- Pans
- Skid steers
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment across multiple pit locations
- Load everything from small pickups to large dump trucks and trailers efficiently
- Assist with building berms, managing material flow, and maintaining site organization
- Turn and manage large windrows using an excavator
- Understand daily site needs and adjust without being told what to do next
- Perform daily equipment checks, including greasing, fluids, and basic maintenance
- Assist with labor tasks as needed to keep operations moving
- Maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment
Schedule
- Typical hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Overtime: Available as needed, but not typical
- Occasional weekend work
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of quality experience operating heavy equipment
- Experience working in active pit, mining, or similar high-production environments
- Ability to operate multiple machines confidently and efficiently
- Strong understanding of material movement and site flow
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Willingness to step out of the cab and help when needed
- Professional attitude when working around team members and customers
