Job Description
G.J. Oliver, Inc. is a worldwide leader in the design and manufacturing of Steel Fabrications and API class Machinery Systems and is currently looking for an experienced machine maintenance tech at their facility.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machine Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This role is primarily responsible for the repair, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of CNC machines, while also supporting general maintenance needs throughout our facilities. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with CNC equipment and a deep understanding of how these machines operate at both mechanical and electrical levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machines (lathes, mills, and related equipment)
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Support facility-wide maintenance repairs as needed (carpentry, plumbing etc.)
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and manuals
- Identify root causes of machine failures and implement long-term solutions
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Work closely with production teams to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience maintaining and repairing CNC machines
- Strong understanding of CNC machine operation, controls, and components
- Proficiency in pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, drives, sensors, and mechanical systems
- Electrical troubleshooting experience (AC/DC circuits preferred)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Technical degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with common CNC controls
- PLC troubleshooting experience a plus
- Welding, fabrication, or machining experience is a plus
- Strong communication and teamwork skills

Pay: $ $35.00 per hour
