Are you a motivated leader with a passion for fresh products, exceptional customer service, and developing high-performing teams? We're looking for a Produce Department Manager to lead our produce department while delivering an outstanding shopping experience for our customers.

In this role, you'll oversee daily department operations, manage inventory, merchandise fresh products, lead and develop team members, and ensure food safety and quality standards are met. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy leading by example, we'd love to meet you!

What You'll Do

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, coach, and develop the produce team to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and team development.
• Communicate department goals, expectations, and company initiatives.
• Delegate responsibilities and ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently.

Department Operations

• Manage ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, rotation, and merchandising of produce.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing shrink and product loss.
• Oversee inventory counts and ensure accurate product availability.
• Create attractive, well-stocked displays that drive sales and enhance the customer experience.
• Monitor department expenses and labor to meet financial goals.

Customer Service

• Greet and engage customers in a friendly, professional manner.
• Resolve customer concerns promptly and effectively.
• Foster a positive shopping experience by maintaining high standards of quality and freshness.

Food Safety & Store Standards

• Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and company policies.
• Train team members on proper food handling and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe department.
• Support continuous improvement and operational excellence.

What We're Looking For

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous grocery, produce, or retail management experience preferred.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience required.
• Food safety certification (ServSafe® or equivalent) preferred.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.

Skills & Abilities

• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math, inventory, and merchandising knowledge.
• Ability to motivate others while maintaining high operational standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
• Comfortable working in refrigerated environments.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
