A leading construction company in Miami is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent with strong technical expertise in earthwork and soil improvement to join our team for an upcoming industrial project, including a storage building and concrete plant.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Lead all on-site earthwork operations, including excavation, structural fill, compaction, subgrade/subbase preparation.
- Ensure accurate elevation, slope, and level control based on civil and structural drawings.
- Coordinate with the geotechnical engineer and testing laboratory on in-place density tests, Proctor tests, plate load tests, and other required analyses.
- Prepare and organize compaction and soil reports for project closeout.
- Verify compliance with the geotechnical report and structural specifications (fill materials, thicknesses, compaction requirements, drainage, slopes, etc.).
- Coordinate sequencing with foundations, slab-on-grade, retaining walls, drainage, and structural teams.
- Maintain daily logs, photographs, quantities, and production equipment.
- Support the Project Manager with scheduling and coordinating multiple trades (concrete, steel, drainage, etc.).
📄 Requirements
- Based in Miami or surrounding areas, with valid authorization to work in the U.S.
- 5 years of experience in large-scale earthwork and/or soil improvement projects in South Florida.
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- Structural fill and compaction for multi-level buildings or industrial facilities
- Soil improvement (preloading, vibrioception, stone columns, etc.)
- Technical field coordination with geotechnical engineers and testing labs
- Strong ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and geotechnical drawings.
- Bilingual Spanish English with strong communication skills.
- Highly organized, quality-driven, safety-oriented, and deadline-focused.
