What You'll Be Doing to Make an Impact:
- Be the Compliance Navigator: You'll be the first to spot new developments in employment law. This includes staying ahead of the curve on critical areas like:
- Wage & Hour: FLSA, minimum wage, overtime, and accurate employee classification.
- Fair Employment: EEOC guidelines, anti-discrimination laws, and pay transparency.
- Leave Management: FMLA, paid sick leave, parental leave, and other protected leaves.
- Workplace Protections: ADA, ACA (benefits requirements), Workers' Compensation, and OSHA safety standards.
- Emerging Regulations: Data privacy (CCPA, GDPR), and the complexities of remote work.
- Shape Policies: You'll draft, refine, and champion HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks, ensuring they're always current and reflect best practices. You'll also spearhead comprehensive HR compliance programs.
- Empower Through Knowledge: Take complex legal speak and make it digestible for everyone. You'll communicate vital updates to managers for software integration and deliver engaging training sessions, building a strong culture of compliance across the organization.
- Proactive Risk Management: Conduct regular internal audits, pinpointing potential compliance gaps and proactively developing strategies to mitigate risks. You'll also prepare for external audits and investigations.
- Master of Records & Reporting: Ensure meticulous record-keeping for all HR documentation, from classifications to payroll and benefits, and prepare essential compliance reports for various agencies.
- Champion Cross-Functional Harmony: Collaborate seamlessly with payroll, benefits, and talent acquisition teams to embed compliance throughout the entire employee lifecycle. You'll also partner with IT and other departments to ensure HR software and systems are always perfectly configured.
What You'll Bring to the Team:
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
- 4 years of progressive HR experience, with a significant and demonstrated focus on HR & Payroll compliance.
- Expert-level knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, EEOC, FMLA, ADA, ACA, Pay Transparency laws, etc.).
- A proven track record of researching, interpreting, and skillfully applying complex legal information to real-world HR practices.
- Exceptional communication skills – you can articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, both in writing and verbally.
- Outstanding organizational skills and a meticulous eye for detail, allowing you to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines with ease.
- Proficiency in HRIS and other HR software systems, with hands-on experience in their configuration for compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving compliance challenges.
- An unwavering commitment to integrity, ethics, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is a definite plus!
Salary : $70,000 - $85,000
