G‑3 Chickadee—formerly part of Goodyear Chemical—is undergoing a major transformation. As a newly independent, Private Equity–backed organization, we are modernizing our infrastructure, implementing new systems (SAP, MES, cybersecurity), and building a strong operational foundation for continued growth.
To support this evolution, we are seeking a Logistics Category Manager who will lead and optimize logistics planning, shipping operations, and supplier management.
What You’ll Do
- Lead sourcing initiatives—including RFQs and bid evaluations—and negotiate contracts and master service agreements to secure favorable commercial terms and reduce risk.
- Ensure strict compliance with the Delegation of Authority, internal controls, and SAP Purchase‑to‑Pay processes.
- Proactively identify and collaborate with business partners to drive value creation opportunities.
- Develop, implement, and maintain supplier performance evaluations and continuous improvement processes, including routine performance updates to the business.
- Use Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify cost‑saving opportunities and hold suppliers accountable for service, quality, and delivery expectations.
- Develop risk‑mitigation strategies to ensure supply chain resilience and prevent supply or service disruptions.
- Maintain compliance with relevant laws, trade regulations, industry standards, and ethical sourcing practices.
- Partner closely with finance, operations, and engineering teams to align on sourcing and operational needs.
- Build and maintain cost models, spend reports, and total cost of ownership analyses to support strategic sourcing recommendations.
- Deliver measurable financial savings with transparent P&L impact and drive process optimization across the business.
- Build and maintain market knowledge, industry insights, and forecasting capabilities.
- Collaborate effectively with supply chain colleagues and commercial/plant teams to enable high‑performance operations.
What You Bring
Required
- 5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or related discipline.
- Background in chemical and polymer logistics operations, including applicable safety requirements.
Preferred
- Proven success in supplier negotiations, contract redlining, contract management, and cost analysis.
- Knowledge of terminals, ports, ocean freight, drayage, and rail logistics in the greater Houston/Beaumont region.
- SAP Purchase‑to‑Pay (P2P) experience.
- Experience in managing chemical transportation logistics and sourcing compliant warehouse facilities, ensuring safe handling, regulatory adherence, and efficient supply chain operations.
