What are the responsibilities and job description for the English Teacher & Office Coordinator position at Fyr Lois Language Institute?
Fyr Lois has taught English across Latin America for 27 years. We're now building our presence in the United States, and we're looking for the person who will help us launch and run our Kissimmee location. This is a founding role: you won't be employee #50 at a big school — you'll be the face of Fyr Lois in Kissimmee and a key part of building something from the ground up as we delve into a new chapter for this office.
The role
This is a full-time, salaried position that combines teaching with coordinating the office. About half your time is teaching English in person; the other half is being the heart of the location — the person who keeps it organized, welcoming, and growing. You will directly work with the C-suite in organizing this, allowing for a lot of learning and growth opportunities.
What you'll do
- Teach English in person — deliver engaging, high-quality classes to our students.
- Be the face of the office — answer questions, welcome visitors, and give tours of our space to prospective students.
- Help us grow — when a prospective student walks in, you know how to make them feel at home and help them see the value of Fyr Lois. Selling isn't your main job, but you're comfortable turning interest into enrollment, and you don't let a good prospect slip away.
- Keep the operation on track — track student attendance, monitor progress, and keep clear records. You're the organized one who makes sure nothing falls through the cracks.
Who we're looking for
- You can teach English well AND you're warm, organized, and great with people — this role needs both.
- You have some commercial instinct: you're comfortable showing the space, talking to prospects, and helping them enroll, even though sales isn't your primary role.
- You're reliable, take ownership, and want to grow with a company rather than just clock in.
- Formal ESL/TESOL training is a strong plus.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus given our community, though English fluency is essential.
