What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School English Teacher position at 2nd Mile Education Charter Schools?
Must have 6-9 English FL Teaching Certification
Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English 6–12 Teacher to join our non-traditional school community. Candidates must hold a Florida 6–12 Teaching Certificate in English and have an ESOL Endorsement.
Our school serves students who may not have been on track to graduate in a traditional school setting. We are not a behavior-based school; rather, we provide a supportive, structured, and motivating environment where students are given another opportunity to earn their high school diploma.
Students use Edmentum as their primary learning platform, while teachers provide meaningful support through small-group instruction, individualized interventions, progress monitoring, and student encouragement. The ideal candidate understands that every student has a story and is committed to looking beyond a student’s exterior, background, or past academic struggles.
We are looking for an educator who can build positive relationships, motivate students, and help them believe in their ability to succeed. This individual should be flexible, student-centered, data-driven, and passionate about helping students see themselves as capable learners and future graduates.
