Splicer

Fybercom is considering adding a new Fiber Splicer to its current fiber crew. Must be a tech-savvy, advanced thinker who likes teamwork and success.

Job Requirements:

• Experience with fiber splicing. Or a Type-A personality who is willing to learn.
• Knowledge and use of fiber optics
• Familiarity with the use, care and operation of instruments used to splice, test and troubleshoot OSP fiber.
• Familiarity with OSP design, fiber configuration and assignments.
• Ability to read and interpret splicing documents and OSP construction drawings.

Experience:

• 2 years of experience in the fiber / telecom construction industry is preferred.
• 1 year of Fiber Splicing

Credentials:

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Possess a Clean Driver's License
• Pass a Background Check

Job Duties:

• Practice and ensure on-site job site safety.
• Review daily assignments
• Review and Approve all test results of newly constructed fiber.
• Coordinate with management to assure adequate resources are available to pull, splice, terminate and test installed fiber within the project schedule deadlines.
• Evaluate and train splicers on a regular basis.
• Maintain day-to-day communication with the Construction and/or Engineering Managers.
• Represent Fybercom in a professional manner at all times.
• Respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public.
• Maintain regular, consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance according to company policies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
