Build Premium Dock Decking Panels in Our Hudson Shop
FWM Docks is a family-owned aluminum dock manufacturer in Hudson, NH. We’ve been in business since 1975 and build premium aluminum dock systems, floating docks, gangways, swim floats, and waterfront access systems for customers across New England.
We’re looking for a reliable, hands-on shop carpenter or deck builder to cut and assemble decking panels for our aluminum dock systems.
This is a great fit for someone with carpentry, deck building, framing, shop, or construction experience who is accurate with a tape measure, comfortable using saws and power tools, and takes pride in clean, square, finished work.
The Job
You’ll be cutting and assembling dock decking panels from raw boards. Our panels range from small 4' x 4' sections to large dock panels up to 8' wide by 20' long.
We work with premium decking materials including AZEK, TimberTech, and ThruFlow flow-through decking.
This is not just fastening pre-cut material. You’ll be measuring, cutting, squaring, aligning, and assembling complete decking panels from raw stock. Accuracy matters. The panels you build are the part of the dock the customer sees and walks on every day.
What You’ll Do
- Cut raw decking boards to size
- Use miter saws, table saws, track saws, drills, impact drivers, screw guns, tape measures, squares, clamps, and other shop tools
- Lay out and assemble decking panels on aluminum dock frames
- Measure, square, and align boards with consistent spacing and clean edges
- Fasten AZEK, TimberTech, ThruFlow, and other decking materials to dock frames
- Build from shop drawings, cut lists, and production instructions
- Check your own work for quality, fit, finish, and appearance
- Stage and move finished panels in the shop
- Keep your work area, tools, and materials clean and organized
- Help with other dock shop work when needed
Who We’re Looking For
We care more about skill, reliability, and pride in your work than a perfect resume.
The right person is:
- Accurate with a tape measure
- Comfortable making clean, square cuts
- Skilled with hand tools and power tools
- Detail-oriented
- Mechanically inclined
- Able to read basic shop drawings or cut lists
- Reliable and on time
- Able to work independently once trained
- Comfortable lifting and moving decking materials
- Willing to learn our process and build things the right way
- Proud of clean, finished work
Experience in carpentry, deck building, framing, finish work, cabinetry, construction, shop work, or manufacturing is a strong fit.
Dock experience is not required. We’ll train the right person on our products and process.
Requirements
- Previous carpentry, deck building, construction, or shop experience preferred
- Strong tape measure skills
- Experience using saws, drills, impact drivers, screw guns, and basic shop tools
- Ability to lift and move decking materials throughout the day

- Steady work with a family-owned company that has been around since 1975
Why Work Here?
At FWM, we build real products that end up on lakes, ponds, camps, homes, marinas, and commercial waterfronts across New England.
The decking panels you build are a major part of the finished dock system. Customers see that work every time they walk on their dock, so fit, finish, and craftsmanship matter.
If you’re good with tools, accurate with measurements, and take pride in building something clean and solid, we’d like to talk.
Apply today. We’ll get back to qualified applicants quickly.
