Electrical Design Engineer

Job Qualifications:

1. Knowledge: Engineering, ICC registration is desired.

Experience:

1. Strong electrical engineering design experience mandatory
2. 3-5 years electrical commercial design experience
3. Strong PC skills to include Revit, BIM, Autocad, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Project Management software, etc.
4. General knowledge of architectural, electrical and fire protection design.
5. Peer electrical plan review for code compliance of construction documents.

Skills and Abilities:

1. Independent, self-starter able to take limited direction on a project. Must be extremely well organized and detail-oriented and capable of independent follow-thorough.
2. Must work well under pressure with diplomacy and tact.
3. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, professional and polished demeanor. Strong commitment to mission, goals, and values of agency.
4. Must have strong knowledge of Electrical Codes, both National and Local (NEC, ICC, DC, Maryland and Virginia supplements).
5. Excellent mathematical, IT and analytical skills
6. Strong attention to detail

Other Responsibilities:

Assisting in electrical engineering design for a variety of commercial, institutional and residential projects. Performs electrical plan review of projects. Performs electrical inspections on commercial, institutional and residential projects. Utilizes teamwork and communication skills to facilitate proper collaboration.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Electrical Engineer/Designer

1. Designer in development of construction documents for a variety of projects to meet department schedules.

Plan Reviewer.

1. Performs electrical plan review
2. Manages technical components of program – resolution of all disputes/clarifications.
