We are partnering with an established, nationally recognized engineering consulting firm seeking an Associate Managing Director to help lead and expand its regional MEP engineering practice in Washington, DC.
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a proven Electrical or Mechanical Engineering professional who combines technical expertise with business development success, strategic vision, and the ability to build high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Regional Leadership: Develop and execute strategic business plans to grow the regional engineering practice, increase revenue, and strengthen market presence.
- Business Development: Build relationships with architects, developers, owners, construction managers, and general contractors to generate new business opportunities.
- Strategic Growth: Identify new markets, develop project pipelines, lead major pursuits, and execute strategies to expand existing client relationships.
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead multidisciplinary engineering teams while supporting strategic hiring and professional development.
- Project Oversight: Provide executive-level oversight of complex MEP engineering projects, ensuring technical excellence, client satisfaction, and profitability.
- Financial Management: Oversee project financial performance, revenue forecasting, business planning, and regional operational objectives.
- Industry Leadership: Represent the firm through client presentations, professional organizations, conferences, and industry thought leadership.
- National Collaboration: Partner with national practice leaders to align regional initiatives with broader organizational growth strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or an exceptional combination of relevant experience and technical expertise.
- 15 years of engineering design experience within MEP consulting or a closely related technical building systems industry.
- 7 years of management or engineering leadership experience.
- 7 years of business development experience within engineering or construction.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration required.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for commercial or technically complex facilities.
- Demonstrated success developing client relationships, generating revenue, and leading engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of business strategy, project financials, operational management, and multidisciplinary project delivery.
- Ability to travel regionally throughout the East Coast, with occasional international travel as needed.
