Job Description for:  Clinical Specialist

 

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

 

Classification: Full-Time, Salary/Exempt

 

Job Summary:   The Clinical Specialist will provide supervision and direction to support an effective clinical service delivery team by implementation of person-centered practices and Office of Developmental Programs Everyday Lives Principles.     

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Works in collaboration with the Director of Programs and Program Analyst to ensure regulatory compliance with 6100, 6400, and 6500 regulations, along with Futures Policies and Procedures.
  • Coordinates with the Director of Programs and Chief Executive Officer to implement and enhance new procedures/services related to the Clinical Team.
  • Participates in meetings and discussions with Program Specialists and Subordinates to provide meaningful clinical feedback to enhance individuals provided with clinical services, to include the development of plans and goals to support individuals.
  • Conducts assessments, including but not limited to, risk assessments, consent screenings, sexuality screenings, and functional behavioral assessments.
  • Works in part as an Agency Liaison with other mental health professionals and agencies.
  • Conducts routine data tracking and monitoring within the agency’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) and the Health Risk Screening Tool (HRST) to maintain clinical compliance and collaborate with the Quality Health Promotions Team for health and wellness related programs.
  • Provides support and guidance to employees and individuals through trauma-informed debriefing techniques following a crisis event.
  • Facilitates training on topics specific to individual diagnosis, behavior support, and other various treatment models and training such as trauma-informed care.
  • Ensures continual compliance with the tracking and maintenance of subordinate tasks to include but not limited to, behavioral support plan development, completion of assessments, ongoing data collection, due dates of pertinent EHR data (such as care plans), and trainings.
  • Works to develop and/or review and approve of Behavioral Support Plans and Social and Emotional Care Plans (SEEP).
  • Maintains a professional relationship with the County ID Services Programs and Administrative Entities, in addition to all other applicable external stakeholders and individual team members.
  • Completes 24 hours of training per year, including mandatory/regulatory trainings and any other trainings as assigned by administration and/or your immediate supervisor.
  • Performs any and all related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor

 

Qualifications:

Qualifications:                        Must have a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma or GED Equivalent, must pass a criminal record background check, and must be a US Citizen. In addition, must have a Bachelor’s Degree or above from an accredited college or university in a human services related field.

                                                A Masters Degree and Professional Licensing (LSW, LCSW, LPC) are preferred.

-Experience working with individuals with a developmental disability and/or Autism

Medical Physical:        Clinical Specialists are required to obtain pre-employment physician and a Mantoux TB text.  Physicals are required every 2 years to main employment.

 

Working Conditions

Employee in this position may be expected to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays   Employee supports individuals on a regular basis who have an intellectual disability and could have co-occurring mental health disorders that present with challenging behaviors including physical and verbal aggression, self-harm, and property destruction.  The employee is occasionally exposed to individuals who have the potential to be carrying a communicable disease.

 

Salary : $28 - $31
