We are seeking a Staff Optics Engineer to provide technical leadership in the design, development, testing, and support of advanced fiber-optic, laser, and electro-optic technologies for aerospace and defense applications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, test, troubleshoot, and optimize optical, laser, fiber-optic, and imaging systems.
- Develop advanced fiber-optic technologies, including rotary joints, optical switches, high-power devices, and multi-fiber harnesses.
- Use Zemax for optical design, simulation, analysis, and optimization.
- Develop precision optical alignment and integration techniques.
- Create test procedures, manufacturing processes, work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Support production, qualification, and fielded products by resolving complex technical issues.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program teams.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Materials Science, Optical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- 7 years of optical system design, development, and testing experience.
- Significant Zemax experience.
- Fiber-optic technology/device development and integration experience.
- Strong knowledge of laser systems, optical alignment, and imaging systems.
- Experience with technical documentation, testing, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex optical/electro-optical systems.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance and access export-controlled information.
Preferred:
- PhD in a relevant technical field.
- Experience with fiber-optic rotary joints, optical switches, multi-fiber harnesses, high-power optical devices, MEMS/silicon micromachined technologies, and manufacturing.
- Laser Safety Officer experience/certification.
