Flex Crew Electrician Position Available
FutureFuel Chemical Company is looking for a Electrician to join our Flex Crew. This position works on a team under the general direction of a supervisor and performs a wide variety of skilled electrical installation tasks involved with new installations and retrofits of industrial electrical equipment. Job duties involve the installation, alteration, and removal of electrical wiring and controls associated with instruments, valves, motors, lighting, power, and any other industrial electrical equipment.
Key Responsibilities
The job duties listed below require seeing, hearing, learning, etc. Other physical demands will be discussed during the interview. This is a Safety Sensitive position.
- Performs highly-skilled electrical installation work involving sizing and selecting the correct wiring, pulling or laying cable assembly, installation, alteration, and repair of piping systems in accordance with Installation Ch Engineering Standards and best practices.
- Understanding and correctly installing equipment in accordance to specific electrical classification requirements.
- Determines the most efficient and effective means of facilitating work in order to reduce cost and minimize downtime; provides recommendations to supervision regarding these items.
- Operates power tools and uses hand tools as needed.
- Determines the proper methods and installation of a wide variety of electrical equipment.
- Works from Piping and Instrumentation (P&I) drawings, Isometric (ISO) drawings, Electrical drawings and sketches.
- Cleans up job site at end of each job or shift by returning all tools, materials, and supplies to the proper location and properly disposes of all scrap.
- Works with and directs the work of other personnel as required.
- Operates man-lifts and skyjack. Also drives company vehicles to/from job sites. Should have a valid Arkansas Drivers’ license.
- Plans and schedules work as needed with Maintenance Coordinators.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
- Communicates effectively in order to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Completes required safety training as directed. Will comply with all established departmental, company, and OSHA safety regulations.
Key Qualifications
- Have at least four years of electrical experience (journeyman certified preferred)
- High school, college, or GED completion is required and must be included with the completed FutureFuel application.
- Strong industrial electrical installation and troubleshooting skills
- National Electric Code knowledgeable
- Be able to work at elevated heights and in small enclosed areas, when necessary
- Be familiar with reading and interpreting electrical schematic drawings
- Basic computer skills
- Be able to perform all of the essential elements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations
- Be strong in analysis and troubleshooting skills
- Be capable of clear, concise verbal, and written communications
- Possess and practice good organizational skills
- Be capable of interfacing with various levels of company management, employees, external contacts
- Must be a team player
- Be willing and capable to work varied shift schedules during large projects or shutdowns according to business needs (i.e., around-the-clock coverage for both routine and emergency needs and working overtime and responding to emergencies during off-hours). Normal work schedule is Mon-Thurs 6:30 - 5:00
- Required to wear company provided FR clothing
- Required to acquire and maintain personal tools with a 50/50 company purchase agreement
