Position Overview
This is an in-office inside sales and customer service role based out of our Sudbury, Massachusetts office. You will be a day-to-day point of contact for our wholesale distributors, showrooms, and counter staff, handling inbound orders, product questions, and follow-up. You will also support our outside sales team and our manufacturer partners by keeping orders moving, opportunities current, and customers informed.
This role is ideal for someone who is organized, dependable, and enjoys helping customers solve problems. Strong communication, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn the plumbing and building products business are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as an inside contact for wholesale distributors, showroom personnel, and counter staff across New England
- Process incoming orders received by phone and email, confirming pricing, availability, and lead times
- Respond to product, pricing, and stock inquiries in a timely, professional manner
- Coordinate with manufacturers on order status, freight, lead times, returns, and warranty questions
- Support outside sales representatives by following up on open opportunities, sample requests, and customer commitments
- Maintain accurate records of orders and customer activity using Excel and internal tracking tools
- Stay current on product updates, new launches, and manufacturer initiatives, and share that information with customers
- Provide general office and team support as needed in a small, collaborative environment
Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years of customer service, inside sales, order entry, or related office experience preferred; the right entry-level candidate with a strong work ethic will be considered and trained
- Excellent phone manner and written communication skills; professional email etiquette is a must
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Comfortable juggling multiple tasks, customers, and priorities throughout the day
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Friendly, dependable, and a team player who works well in a small office setting
- Experience in plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, kitchen and bath, or building products is a significant plus but not required
- Must be able to reliably commute to our Sudbury, Massachusetts office five days per week
