Job Role: QA Lead (Retail/Manhattan Active WMS)
Pay Rate - $65-$70/hr. on C2C/1099
Duration - CTH
Visa – No Sponsorship
Location - Cincinnati, OH (3 days onsite) – Locals are very highly preferred.
Role: Hybrid Lead QE/SDET with executive presence and strong communication skills for leadership-level engagement
Top 3 Skills:
· Cross-functional QA expertise (automated frontend testing, test plan lifecycle, test data management)
· Prior Manhattan Active Warehouse Management (MAWM) experience
· Understanding of large 3rd-party systems (WMS, TMS, YMS) and their complexities
Soft Skills:
· Strong verbal and written communication
· Ability to collaborate with 3rd parties, vendors, and offshore teams
· Experience navigating large enterprise systems
Project: Supporting the Warehouse Management System (WMS) project; ensuring successful execution of the Manhattan project
Team Structure: Will oversee a team of contractors (no direct reports, but supervisory responsibilities)
Responsibilities
· Effectively work in a fast-paced environment utilizing Agile methodology to ensure timely and iterative delivery of quality software
· Develop and maintain functional automation test scripts using modular frameworks and industry best practices
· Execute automated test scripts to validate the correct functionality of applications across various environments
· Use SQL for backend database validation to ensure data integrity and accuracy
· Perform various types of testing including smoke, white box, black box, integration, end-to-end, regression, and system testing based on project needs
· Participate in requirement and design review sessions, evaluating documentation from a quality and test automation perspective
· Manage test coverage by conducting risk analysis to prioritize testing efforts
· Document defects, assess their severity and priority, and ensure accurate reporting based on the impact to application functionality
· Coordinate test script reviews with stakeholders as appropriate to ensure alignment and clarity
· Follow established guidelines for requirement review, defect writing, and test script documentation
· Ensure completion of all testing deliverables within schedule, budget, and quality constraints
· Participate in Root Cause Analysis sessions to identify and resolve the underlying causes of defects
· Ensure all projects follow prescribed software development life cycle (SDLC) standards
· Build and maintain positive working relationships with project team members and stakeholders
· Manage multiple tasks effectively to meet assignment deadlines
· Accurately estimate effort for assigned tasks and deliverables
· Demonstrate assertiveness and take initiative in project and team settings
· Identify obstacles and roadblocks, and proactively suggest workarounds or solutions
· Help drive and continuously improve QA processes within the assigned team
Requirements
· 8 years of QA experience with cross-functional expertise in automated frontend testing, test plan lifecycle, and test data management
· Prior experience with MAWM (Modern Application Workflow Management)
· Experience with QA processes and deliverables in Agile/Scrum environments
· Proficient in defect tracking and root cause analysis using tools such as Jira or Rally
· Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab, etc.)
· Strong understanding of automation and performance testing concepts
· Experience with risk-based testing techniques
· Experience working with or on remote and distributed teams
· Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, especially in vendor, offshore, and third-party coordination
· Experience in large enterprise systems with complex QA workflows
· Ability to challenge existing norms and contribute to continuous process improvement
Specialization/Role Requirements for Automation
· 5 years of experience writing automated frontend tests using Selenium with Java or JavaScript (WebDriver, WebDriverIO, Marathon, Appium, etc.)
· 5 years of experience with test runners such as JUnit, TestNG, Mocha, or Jasmine
· 5 years of experience working with CI tools like Jenkins, TeamCity, or GitLab
· 2 years of experience using Selenium Grid for distributed test execution
· 3 years of experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies
· 2 years of experience using Jira for defect tracking
Nice to Have
· Experience managing or supporting test environments
· Exposure to performance testing tools and frameworks
· Familiarity with test data provisioning and environment setup automation
· Experience working across business units or departments to align on quality standards and practices
