Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Scheduler to support project planning, scheduling, progress tracking, and schedule analysis for a long-term project in Madison, WI. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in advanced project scheduling, critical path analysis, forensic schedule analysis, and Microsoft Project, along with strong proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project.
- Perform advanced scheduling and critical path analysis to identify schedule risks, delays, dependencies, and potential impacts.
- Conduct forensic schedule analysis to investigate schedule variances, delays, disruptions, and changes to project timelines.
- Establish and maintain project activities, milestones, dependencies, durations, and resource requirements.
- Track actual progress against the approved baseline schedule and identify deviations.
- Analyze schedule performance and provide recommendations to mitigate delays and maintain project milestones.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to collect schedule updates.
- Prepare regular schedule reports, progress updates, forecasts, and management-level presentations.
- Maintain accurate schedule baselines and perform schedule revisions as project requirements change.
- Identify critical and near-critical activities and communicate potential impacts to project leadership.
- Support recovery and mitigation planning when projects fall behind schedule.
- Develop and maintain schedule-related documentation and reports.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel for schedule tracking, data analysis, reporting, and forecasting.
- Ensure schedule information is accurate, current, and aligned with project objectives.
Required Qualifications
- 7–10 years of relevant scheduling/project controls experience.
- Strong experience with advanced project scheduling.
- Demonstrated experience with critical path analysis.
- Hands-on experience with forensic schedule analysis, including investigating delays and schedule impacts.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Project (MS Project).
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of project dependencies, milestones, baselines, float, constraints, and schedule logic.
- Ability to analyze complex project schedules and identify risks and potential delays.
- Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced project environment.
- One manager reference is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large-scale engineering, construction, manufacturing, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
- Experience with project controls, schedule forecasting, earned value, or progress measurement.
- Experience developing schedule recovery and mitigation plans.
- Familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
