Position Overview

Our Healthcare client is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer with strong .NET Core and Azure expertise to join the Aetna Coding Center (ATC) team. The team currently has Java developers supporting application initiatives but needs a senior .NET/Azure engineer who can serve as the primary .NET SME and independently drive development, enhancement, and modernization efforts.

The developer will primarily support two existing .NET applications, with a strong focus on application modernization, Azure cloud adoption, and front-end modernization. The role will involve approximately a 50/50 split between back-end and front-end development.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary .NET and Azure SME within the ATC team.
• Design, develop, enhance, maintain, and modernize enterprise applications using .NET Core / ASP.NET Core.
• Modernize legacy web applications by migrating them to modern architectures, frameworks, and Azure cloud technologies.
• Develop scalable and secure applications using Microsoft Azure services and cloud-native development practices.
• Build, consume, and integrate RESTful APIs, following strong API design and integration patterns.
• Develop modern, responsive user interfaces using React.
• Work across both front-end and back-end development in an approximately 50/50 full-stack capacity.
• Design and develop SQL-based database solutions, including queries, stored procedures, data access, and optimization.
• Analyze existing applications and identify opportunities for modernization, performance improvement, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Java developers, architects, product teams, and other technology stakeholders.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and provide technical leadership within the .NET development space.
• Contribute to emerging initiatives involving AI-assisted development, LLM applications, and Agentic AI solutions, where applicable.

Required Qualifications

• 7 years of professional experience with .NET Core / ASP.NET Core development.
• Strong experience serving as a senior-level .NET SME or primary developer on enterprise applications.
• Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure development and cloud modernization experience.
• Experience migrating or modernizing legacy applications to Azure and modern application architectures.
• Strong C# / .NET development experience.
• Strong React development experience.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and implementing API integration patterns.
• Strong SQL/database development experience.
• Experience maintaining, enhancing, and modernizing existing enterprise applications.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of .NET development initiatives.
• Strong understanding of full-stack application architecture and development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare, insurance, pharmacy, or other regulated-industry experience.
• Angular experience as an alternative/additional front-end framework.
• Experience with AI-assisted software development tools.
• Experience developing Agentic AI solutions.
• Experience building applications using LLMs / Generative AI.
• Experience with Azure-native services, cloud migration, and modernization patterns.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a Senior .NET Full Stack Engineer who combines deep .NET Core expertise with strong Azure cloud experience and modern React development skills. This person should be comfortable becoming the team's go-to .NET/Azure resource, working independently, and taking ownership of legacy application modernization initiatives.

Important: Candidates should be prepared to work **onsite in Hartford, CT 3 days per week from Day 1. Relocation candidates are acceptable if they are serious about relocating and can meet the onsite requirement.
