Network Engineer (W2 Only)

Job Role: Network Engineer

Location: Albany, NY (Onsite)

Pay Rate: $60-$64/hr. on W2

Eligibility: US Citizens or GC holders only

Job Description:

Responsibilities

• :Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS
• )Must be onsite full-time and available on-call after hours
• .Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations
• .Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
• .Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
• .Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
• .Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
• .Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team
• .Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
• .Work with security team to evaluate threats, troubleshoot issues, and comply with appropriate security configuration standards of the organizations
• .Design and deploy changes to the configurations of clients as per the applicable change management process
• .Proactively handle all network security solutions
• .Firmware upgrades on routers, switches, WLC’s and firewalls
• .Make use of testing and diagnostic tools to assess and modify equipment
• .Make use of enterprise monitoring tools (SolarWinds and Splunk)
• .Opens vendor Support cases, including Cisco, Palo Alto and other third-party vendors
• .Investigates network performance issues, performing captures using Wireshark and uploading data accordingly
• .Performs hardware decommission and disposal following company policy and guidelines
• .Updates vision diagram for multiple sites based on CMDB report
• .Supports offshore team upgrades and troubleshooting sessions as required
